Facelift Surgery

A facelift is designed to correct aging features, restoring a more youthful, rested appearance with uplifted contours and improved tone in facial skin and underlying muscle. Typical incisions begin within the hairline, above the temple and continue along the ear, ending behind the ear. This allows access to tighten underlying tissue, remove excess fat and reduce sagging skin. Is facelift surgery right for you?

Considering Breast Augmentaion?

By inserting an implant behind each breast, Dr. Niessen is able to increase a woman’s bust line by one or more cup sizes. Breast enhancement is usually done to enhance the body contour of a woman who, for personal reasons, feels her breast size is too small, to balance a difference in breast size or to fill in breast volume loss due to pregnancy or breast-feeding.

Are you getting ready for bathing suit...

Despite good health and a reasonable level of exercise, some people may still have a body with disproportionate contours due to localized fat deposits. These areas may be due to family traits rather than a lack of weight control or fitness. Liposuction slims and reshapes specific areas of the body by removing excess fat deposits, improving your body contours and proportion, and ultimately enhancing your self-image. Dr. Niessen also offers Lipodissolve.  Are either of these procedures right for you?

Recovery from Abdominoplasty Surgery

After your abdominoplasty surgery, you will have drains in place to drain fluid from the surgical site. The drains will be removed when drainage has slowed or stopped. For the first one to two weeks, your abdomen will likely be swollen. Discomfort will be controlled by medication. You will have a gauze dressing on your abdomen, covered by an abdominal compression garment. Patients typically wear this for 6 weeks. Sutures are removed at approximately ten days.

Do you need a breast lift?

A mastopexy, or “breast lift” is a surgical procedure to raise and reshape sagging breasts. Factors such as pregnancy, nursing and the force of gravity take their toll on a woman’s breasts. As the skin loses its elasticity, the breasts will often lose their shape and firmness and begin to sag.

Silicone Breast Implants

Silicone gel implants are made of a gel filler that acts as a solid unit rather than a liquid. The gel holds together uniformly, while retaining the natural “give” that resembles actual breast tissue. Gel-filled breast implants use gel that is cohesive, safe and aesthetically pleasing. Silicone Gel-Filled Implants are offered in either a round style gel implant or a contour (anatomic) shaped gel implant.   See if silicone breast implants are right for you!

Lipolysis injections or Lipodissolve must not be regarded as a new miracle drug for weight reduction. When it comes to fat deposits which can not be eliminated by diet or exercise, Lipodissolve initiates a process during which fat is melted away and then eliminated from the body via the usual metabolic process. See if Lipodissolve is right for you.

Breastfeeding and Breast Implants

Many women with breast implants have successfully breast fed their babies.  A peri-areolar incision is more likely to affect this ability.  Some women experience mastitis, inflammation of the breast ducts, during this time, which can also cause capsular contracture.  Taking antibiotics when symptoms first appear may minimize the potential of this problem.

Wearing an under wire bra after breast...

Dr. Niessen asks that women wait 2 months before wearing an under wire bra, after having had either breast implant or breast lift surgery. Your body is forming scar tissue around the breast implant for this period.   During this time, the pressure from the under wire bra could cause irritation to your incision, and we suggest women wear a sports bra during their recovery time.
